I’m Will Scott, Communications, Events and Fundraising Coordinator at ASSIST. I joined the team in January 2024, having previously worked for five years as a primary school teacher (and before that, as an English language teacher in China, Russia and Sudan.)
Working for ASSIST gives me the opportunity to turn my interest in the cause of migrant justice into action. Day to day, I help to fund our work by applying for grants and handling donations, as well as keeping in touch with our network of supporters, volunteers and partner organisations via our website, mailing list and social media platforms. I’m also responsible for developing and coordinating ASSIST’s programme of community events.
When I’m not working, I enjoy discovering new walking routes in the Peak District (with some wildlife spotting along the way), trying new dishes and ingredients from around the world and watching new and classic films (preferably on the big screen!)
