Menstruation Matters

Menstruation Matters work to combat period poverty amongst women in South Yorkshire who are primarily from BAMER (Black, Asian, mixed race, ethnic minority and refugee) communities and are fleeing sexual or domestic abuse such as forced marriage, honour-based violence, female genital mutilation and sex trafficking.

Who they are:
  • A campaign tackling period poverty among refugees.
  • Advocates for dignity and access to menstrual care.
  • A volunteer-led initiative supporting marginalised groups.
What they do:
  • Distribute free period products.
  • Provide education on menstrual health.
  • Campaign for better access to hygiene facilities.
