I’m Jake Clarke, the Communications, Events, and Fundraising Coordinator at ASSIST. I joined the team in February 2025 after spending two years as the Communications Coordinator at St Augustine's Centre, Halifax.
Working at ASSIST allows me to turn my passion for asylum, refugee, migrant, and climate justice into tangible action. On a daily basis, I secure funding through grant applications and manage donations. I also keep our network of supporters, volunteers, and partner organisations engaged via our social media channels, website, and mailing list (feel free to join and follow us). Additionally, I play a key role in developing and coordinating ASSIST's active community events programme.
Outside of work, I’m an avid and competitive table tennis player. I also enjoy playing tennis, racketball, padel, and badminton (anything with a racket really). My passion for climate justice extends to my specialisation in climate mobilities. I’m eager to share knowledge about the impact of human-driven climate change on human mobilities and displacement, showcasing stories of resilience.
