ASSIST Sheffield

Challenging asylum destitution

'Asylum the basics' training course. Tuesday 24th and 31st January.

ASSIST Sheffield will soon be delivering another ‘Asylum the Basics’ training session.

These sessions are excellent for providing background information and awareness for anyone working with those within the asylum system. They are also a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of asylum issues with key personnel.

Content includes; an overview of the asylum process and asylum law, support available to those within the asylum system and the issues faced by those seeking to claim asylum in the UK. These sessions are delivered by an experienced team of our volunteers and an extensive course pack is provided.

There are only limited spaces for non-ASSIST personnel, available at a cost of £30.

The upcoming course is an evening course, split over two evenings and designed for those who cannot attend daytime training. You would need to attend on both Tuesday 24th and 31st January 2017, 6.30pm – 9.30pm at Victoria Hall, Norfolk Street, Sheffield, S1 2JB.

Refreshments will be provided, including a buffet meal from 6.15pm.

Anyone seeking to attend should email office [at] assistsheffield.org.uk with their name, role/job title, organisation and a contact email address.
