ASSIST Sheffield

Challenging asylum destitution

A wedding with a difference

Jonathan Saha and Rachel Johnson will be celebrating their wedding on 22 Sept…and they have asked their friends to give a donation to ASSIST instead of buying them a wedding present.

“They say it’s better to give than to receive. In this case we won’t be doing either – but you can!

“We’d rather you didn’t spend your money on gifts for us. We have a tiny flat, and have been living together for many years; we really do have everything we need (and some stuff we don’t). So, we thought it would be great if we could encourage you to donate to ASSIST in celebration of our wedding instead.

ASSIST is a great charity, one which we have both been involved in when we lived in Sheffield and means a lot to us. It helps defend and support destitute asylum seekers in the city.”

Thank you, Jonathan and Rachel. Have a wonderful day!
